My approach to counselling is calm, collaborative, and led by your individual needs. I offer a space where you can slow down, speak freely, and explore what’s going on for you at a pace that feels right.
You don’t need to have clear goals or the “right words” to begin — we work together to make sense of what you’re experiencing.
The therapeutic relationship
The relationship we build is central to the work. I aim to offer a non-judgemental, emotionally safe space where you feel heard, respected, and supported.
Therapy is a collaborative process. We move at a pace that feels manageable, paying attention to what feels helpful and what might need more care or space.
Practicalities
I currently offer online counselling sessions in a calm, confidential, and supportive space.
Sessions last 50 minutes and take place weekly, although this can be reviewed as we work together.
Before starting, I offer an free 15 minute initial consultation, with no obligation, to explore what you’re looking for and whether working together feels like the right fit for you.
The fee for counselling is £55 per 50-minute session.
I also offer concessions for students and those on a low income, which we can discuss openly during the initial consultation.
An integrative way of working
I work integratively, which means I draw from different therapeutic approaches rather than using a one-size-fits-all model. This allows the work to be shaped around you — your experiences, relationships, and inner world.
At times this may involve gently exploring past experiences and patterns; at other times, we may focus more on what’s happening in the present. The work evolves naturally as therapy unfolds.
Frequently asked questions
What is counselling like?
Counselling is a space to talk openly about what’s going on for you, without judgement or pressure to have everything figured out. Sessions are led by what you bring, whether that’s a specific difficulty or a general sense that something isn’t quite right. My role is to support you in exploring your thoughts and feelings at a pace that feels manageable.
How do I know if counselling is right for me?
You don’t need to be in crisis, or have a clear reason, to consider counselling. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or curious about understanding yourself more deeply, counselling may be helpful. The initial consultation is an opportunity to explore this together and see whether it feels like a good fit — there’s no obligation to continue.
Is everything I share confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is a core part of my practice and follows the BACP Ethical Framework. I will explain this clearly before we begin, including the few ethical and legal limits.
Time and pace
Therapy isn’t about rushing towards solutions or forcing change. It’s a space where things can unfold gradually, with care and curiosity.
Some people come for short-term support around a specific issue, while others choose to work in a more open-ended way. We review how things are going together and allow the work to develop in a way that feels supportive and meaningful for you.
If you’re considering counselling and would like to find out more, you’re welcome to get in touch to arrange an initial consultation. There’s no pressure — just an opportunity to see whether this feels right for you.
